Soil Evolution Switzerland
02/06/2026
EARA is joining Soil Evolution with members pioneering putting soil health to the centre of their farming. Join us at the festival and the EARA Stand.
This event is taking place for the first time in Switzerland against the unique backdrop of Gurten, Bern’s local mountain. In addition to the location, a special feature of this field day event is the collaboration between three German-speaking practitioner organisations – Gesellschaft für konservierende Bodenbearbeitung e.V. (Germany), Boden. Leben (Austria) and Swiss No-Till (Switzerland) – and the resulting pooling of knowledge transfer on soil and climate protection, humus formation and conservation agriculture.
Through field trips, specialist talks and workshops, the latest knowledge will be shared and dialogue between practitioners, advisors and researchers will be encouraged. The spacious exhibition area offers the opportunity to engage with suppliers from all sectors.
Practitioners, consultants and scientists with years of experience in conservation agriculture, green cover systems, humus management and crop production systems will share their experiences and showcase solutions from their own farms.
Participants can expect insights into topics such as no-till techniques, greening and biodiversity, soil development in grassland, ploughless soil cultivation, crop rotation, catch crops, mixed cropping, soil in the water cycle, economics and the market, and much more.
For the first time, the event will be held in two languages (German and French), which offers significant additional potential in terms of both the specialist audience and the participating experts.
The venue on the Gurten not only offers attractive conditions for the specialist audience but, thanks to its public nature, also offers great potential for engaging with the general public.
Special activities are planned for the interested public, as well as a special programme for school classes in the Bern region. All focusing on the themes of soil and conservation agriculture.
